Vice President and Senior Landscape Designer

Seasoned Landscape Designer and Staff Horticulturist Jim Slezinski came to Goldner Walsh Nursery in 1972 after his educational sojourns at Michigan State University and the University of Detroit. With a M.S. in Landscape Horticulture, Jim has designed and directed many projects in an illustrious career.

Jim's many delighted clients have used his design services not only for their first home, but for their second and third homes, and also second generation homes from the same family.

Homegrown in Metro Detroit, this worldwide traveler has observed, photographed and written about plants and continually enlightens staff and customers about “What’s NEW!” for the landscape and garden.

Cathy joined our staff in 1999, and brings great enthusiasm and a fresh perspective to Goldner Walsh, and especially to her design projects.

Cathy enjoys stretching the limits of creativity, and her innovative and playful approach to design results in spirited gardens, that are quite livable and easy to enjoy. Teaming together with her crew of hard-working, good-humored and talented plantsmen they enjoy transforming each landscape project into a work of art.

Cathy hails from Oregon, where she studied Horticulture and Landscape Design. She is passionate about plants, and is always seeking out new and exciting introductions to use in her gardens.

Cathy has received both local and national design awards, and has had gardens published in The Michigan Gardener, Style Magazine, and Better Homes and Gardens. Her involvement with the Suite Dreams Showhouse at Waterfall Hill in Birmingham, as well as the Detroit Symphony Showhouse at Cranbrook won rave reviews.

Patty ReevesPatty Clark, ASLA
Landscape Designer

Patty is Goldner Walsh’s newest landscape designer. She has been designing landscapes since 1985, and has a focus on residential design and historic landscapes.

This upbeat mother of five, has an interest in therapeutic gardening. She is a graduate of MSU, a Master Gardener, and a member of the American Society of Landscape Architects (ASLA).

Patty’s experience includes designing larger residential landscapes, new builds, as well as master plans consisting of hardscapes, outdoor rooms and courtyards.
